Maintain job descriptions documents and training guidelines with assistance from department managers
Review employee benefits (including health insurance plans) and make recommendations to management with the intent of keeping the company locally competitive
Recruiting, screening, and scheduling candidates for open positions. Depending on the position you may be required to take part in interview process
Administration of new employee on-boarding process
Ensure forms are complete and accurate
Perform reference checks
Conduct background checks and drug tests
Assemble offer letters or phone calls when appropriate
Conduct new hire orientation
Develop policies, procedures and forms for maintaining employee personnel records
Maintain employee personnel files and records
Maintain (and update) employee forms (employment application, new hire packet, federal and state withholding tax forms, benefit enrollment forms, and so on)
Prepare quarterly (or as needed) employee census
Coordinate open enrollments for employee insurances
Notify newly eligible employees and coordinate enrollment for employee insurance benefits
Coordinate COBRA and related benefits for terminated employees
Maintain and complete all unemployment insurance claims
Become certified as a forklift operator trainer. Conduct forklift training and certification of warehouse employees (To ensure proper execution of this important safety training)
Become an active member of the safety committee
Review and maintain existing employee performance evaluation tools and scorecards.
Ensure consistent and timely execution of the evaluation process.
Any other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
Personnel management skills/supervisory skills
Computer skills, including spreadsheet and word processing applications
Knowledge of Federal and State Employment and Benefit Law
